Tom Sherman would be a strong addition to the NH Senate
Oct. 24 — To the Editor:
I am writing to strongly support Dr. Tom Sherman for N.H. Senate.
Tom has an excellent knowledge of the legislative process, has helped in the passage of many bills improving the health of his district, and is an intelligent, compassionate, ethical physician and politician.
Tom has also seen how a medical system, controlled by a horizontal and vertical monopoly and directed by one individual, can bring diminished medical care to the Seacoast. He helped extinguish the hepatitis C fiasco at Exeter Hospital, which various federal agencies deemed secondary to marked deficiencies in an autocratically run medical facility. In his own quiet way, he helped pass legislation that will help prevent institutional issues from affecting the health of patients.
On a personal level, I found Tom to be responsive to the many phone calls over hepatitis C patients, infected at Exeter, under my care. He helped avoid bureaucratic nightmares, which others only complicated.
By definition, a subspecialist physician has an extraordinary degree of education and knowledge. Tom will raise the bar in the state Senate, and will not represent Super PACS, big Pharma, mega-donors, or those who wish to deny Seacoast residents the best in medical care. I am proud to give him my total and enthusiastic endorsement.
Alain Ades, M.D.
