Tom Sherman for NH Senate
Oct. 28 — To the Editor:
Let me add my voice to the many who have already expressed support for Tom Sherman MD in his quest to be elected to the NH Senate. We are really so fortunate to have had Dr. Sherman in the State House for the last four years, as he has been a prominent leader for so many important health related matters.
Many already have described Tom’s leadership in the heroin epidemic, the cancer-cluster issue and toxic waste problem in the Seacoast and Medicaid expansion. Dr. Sherman was also the principal physician on the Exeter Hospital staff who helped determine the origin of the hepatitis infections at that hospital. Tom continues in his part-time practice of gastroenterology while spending the rest of his time doing so much in the legislature and the community working for all of us. He is up-to-date and so well informed. By electing Tom Sherman to the NH Senate he will be able to provide continued leadership for so many health and other important issues impacting our state.
As a fellow physician, I feel strongly that Tom Sherman brings a needed medical perspective and training to the vital health issues affecting our state and ultimately our nation. As we have already seen, he can bring diagnostic skills to the social and health problems facing our state, and then help devise strategies and solutions for those problems. Dr. Sherman has proven again and again his unique ability to bridge the political divide in our legislature to do the right things for our citizens.
Physicians involved in politics can serve a vital function by bringing the very diagnostic principles and reasoning to the important issues facing our state and our legislators. Tom Sherman is an absolutely great example of a physician/politician who works for everybody’s health in our state. Please cast your vote for Dr. Tom Sherman to represent Senate District 24.
